Family

I want to use this blog to remember our family memories as they pass by. I am so bad with taking the time to write anything down, and even when I do, I prefer it to be on the computer, because it's faster! Hopefully this will work out for me.
So stepping back to October 2009:

My brother and his wife announced that they were pregnant!

Forward to Thanksgiving 2009:

We announce that we, too, are pregnant!

Krista and I determine that we are about 5 1/2 weeks apart. Their baby boy will be joining us in mid-June. Our baby girl will be joining us late July.

All of our parents were so ecstatic about having not just one but two babies at once. The planning and dreaming could finally begin.

We had our girl and boy names picked out very early on. If it was a girl, it was going to by Kynnedy Brooke. I had had Kynnedy picked out for years and luckily Brian agreed, because JFK was his favorite president. Brooke is the middle name of one our dear friends, Kacie Kinney. We asked for her permission to use her name, of course she said yes. If it was a boy it was going to be Deacon Matthew. We both liked the name Deacon, it wasn't too weird but it wasn't too common either. Matthew was the name of Brian's best friend growing up, who died in a car accident in high school.

Our first glimpse at our baby, at 10 weeks

Finding out she was a girl, at 19 weeks

Seeing her beautiful face for the first time at 31 weeks:

We were in love. The first thing I noticed about her were her big lips. So precious. All I wanted to do was touch them and kiss them. They were so sweet. Then I noticed her chunky cheeks. Only 31 weeks along and the baby chunk was already there. My little roly poly.

We started decorating the room. I went through so many different patterns and styles, trying to decide. A baby's nursery speaks volumes to me. I had to make it just right. We found the perfect design at Target. A Liberty of London set, a pastel and bright floral pattern with pinks and oranges and greens and blues. We painted the walls. Granddaddy helped me paint some of the walls because I was so tired all of the time. After he did that, I was able to tackle the rest and really get organized.

The baby showers that people gave us continually filled the nursery, spilling into the living room. Clothes clothes and more clothes. Cute little shoes and bows. Cribs, play pen, swings, bouncers, tubs, all the fun stuff. We will have had 5 baby showers when it is all over with.

We took maternity photos with our fav photographer, Angel Porch, at 33 weeks. She will also be taking our newborn photos. Can't wait for that day!

My doctor has been telling me for the last few weeks that Kynnedy is measuring bigger than normal for her gestational age. We are currently waiting to find out why this is, and if it should be of any concern for delivery. I am not worried about it, I will do whatever my doctor thinks is best. The best part is we get extra ultrasound pics!

My original due date was July 29. It's been moved up to July 19 to account for the bigger than normal measurements. We're waiting to see if that date will stick or if it will be moved yet again.

At least 5 weeks from now, I will get to meet my sweet baby girl. Finally.
