4 months

Kynnedy, 4 months was a big month for you!

-It was your First Thanksgiving!
-You chewed on your thumb a lot.
-You could go 3-4 hours between feedings.
-You found your feet.
-You rolled over from back to tummy. Which it made you spit up every time. And then you would get mad because you couldn't roll back over.
-Your eyebrows were getting darker.
-You wiggled and squirmed a lot.
-We practiced sitting up, but you would start falling head first, and then get mad.
-You took the longest naps at home (2-3 hours, twice a day), and only short cat-naps when you were away from home (20-30 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day).
-You've started putting your arm above your head when you eat or when you are relaxed, kinda like Daddy.
-At Thanksgiving, Mommy was holding you and you were looking at Grandaddy and you fussed until Mommy passed you to Grandaddy, then you were happy. Grandaddy was pretty proud.

New trick

I always hesitate to post videos on Facebook, but I think I'm safe here.

Kynnedy recently started making this really loud noise with her mouth. It's HILARIOUS. To us anyway.

I was going to upload another but this thing took like a week to process. So nevermind.

We working on getting her to laugh. We can only get the good laughs when the camera is not in her face. She gets easily distracted by the camera.

Kynnedy and Politics

Kynnedy has become quite the political social butterfly.

This was her at her first watch party - the primary - July 27, 2010 - 8 days old

This was at her second watch party - the runoff - August 24, 2010 - 6 weeks old

And this was her third watch party - general election - Nov 2, 2010 - 3 1/2 months old

And she's become quite the little chunk!

She is so much fun. She is so happy to see us in the morning. We get all sorts of smiles then. She's able to hold her head up really well and we're working on the sitting up too. Love love love her.

My Three Month Old Baby Girl

At three months, you...

started laughing, not real loud or very often. But just a little.

started grasping and pulling things, like mommy's hair.

held your head up all the time.

played with your hands, folding them together and chewing on them.

liked to be entertained.

could wear headbands now.

celebrated your first Halloween and dressed up as a mermaid.

grew and changed overnight!

Two (and a half) Month Reflections

You smile...all the time!

You want to talk so bad but just can't say it yet.

Mom is the only one who hears your attempts to talk.

You'll be going to the sitter for the first time next week. Mom has mixed feelings about this.

You're getting bigger.

You'll be getting your 2-month shots next week. Mom and Dad are not looking forward to this.

Sometimes I just have to stare at you, because you're staring at me. And then you smile and my heart melts.

You're holding your head up more and more on your own, and your feet are being more stable.

You noticed your cousin Hudson for the first time tonight at church. You both smiled at each other.

Your hair is getting redder and your eyelashes are getting fuller.

You already love to watch TV, you'll fit right in with your family.

You love to watch the ceiling fan and lights.

You were dedicated at church on Mom & Dad's 2nd anniversary.

You're still sleeping through the night.

And you are still beautiful.

You scratched your cheek one night, but it didn't bother you.

Love this one!

We love our Kyn!

One Month Reflections

At one month, you:

stayed awake a lot more.
slept longer at night.
gave big smiles with big dimples.
held your head up for longer periods of time.
loved bath time.
mostly breathed through your mouth.
made your mouth into a big "O" at random times, but normally after eating.
didn't mind Mommy changing your clothes allll the time.
couldn't wear headbands because your head was too small.
could finally fit in the newborn clothes.
liked to sit under the play gym.
liked to be swaddled when you were gassy.
were a good passer of gas.
liked to be on your tummy, snuggling with whoever was holding you.
went to the nursery at church for the first time.
found your fingers and chewed on them occasionally.
squawked on occasion.
loved hearing Mommy and Daddy's voices.
recognized Grandee's voice.
had your second photo shoot with Mommy.
had your newborn photo shoot with Angel Porch.

Two Week Reflections

At 2 weeks old, you:

went to your first political watch party.
went to your first wedding.
slept a lot.
woke up at night a lot.
had to go under the bili lights for 48 hours. You loved it. Mommy and Daddy did not.
had your feet pricked to check for jaundice more times than Mommy wants to remember.
had your first photo shoot with Mommy.
started showing some personality around 1 1/2 weeks.
cried a little.
smiled a lot.

Family

I want to use this blog to remember our family memories as they pass by. I am so bad with taking the time to write anything down, and even when I do, I prefer it to be on the computer, because it's faster! Hopefully this will work out for me.
So stepping back to October 2009:

My brother and his wife announced that they were pregnant!

Forward to Thanksgiving 2009:

We announce that we, too, are pregnant!

Krista and I determine that we are about 5 1/2 weeks apart. Their baby boy will be joining us in mid-June. Our baby girl will be joining us late July.

All of our parents were so ecstatic about having not just one but two babies at once. The planning and dreaming could finally begin.

We had our girl and boy names picked out very early on. If it was a girl, it was going to by Kynnedy Brooke. I had had Kynnedy picked out for years and luckily Brian agreed, because JFK was his favorite president. Brooke is the middle name of one our dear friends, Kacie Kinney. We asked for her permission to use her name, of course she said yes. If it was a boy it was going to be Deacon Matthew. We both liked the name Deacon, it wasn't too weird but it wasn't too common either. Matthew was the name of Brian's best friend growing up, who died in a car accident in high school.

Our first glimpse at our baby, at 10 weeks

Finding out she was a girl, at 19 weeks

Seeing her beautiful face for the first time at 31 weeks:

We were in love. The first thing I noticed about her were her big lips. So precious. All I wanted to do was touch them and kiss them. They were so sweet. Then I noticed her chunky cheeks. Only 31 weeks along and the baby chunk was already there. My little roly poly.

We started decorating the room. I went through so many different patterns and styles, trying to decide. A baby's nursery speaks volumes to me. I had to make it just right. We found the perfect design at Target. A Liberty of London set, a pastel and bright floral pattern with pinks and oranges and greens and blues. We painted the walls. Granddaddy helped me paint some of the walls because I was so tired all of the time. After he did that, I was able to tackle the rest and really get organized.

The baby showers that people gave us continually filled the nursery, spilling into the living room. Clothes clothes and more clothes. Cute little shoes and bows. Cribs, play pen, swings, bouncers, tubs, all the fun stuff. We will have had 5 baby showers when it is all over with.

We took maternity photos with our fav photographer, Angel Porch, at 33 weeks. She will also be taking our newborn photos. Can't wait for that day!

My doctor has been telling me for the last few weeks that Kynnedy is measuring bigger than normal for her gestational age. We are currently waiting to find out why this is, and if it should be of any concern for delivery. I am not worried about it, I will do whatever my doctor thinks is best. The best part is we get extra ultrasound pics!

My original due date was July 29. It's been moved up to July 19 to account for the bigger than normal measurements. We're waiting to see if that date will stick or if it will be moved yet again.

At least 5 weeks from now, I will get to meet my sweet baby girl. Finally.
